Product details

Mitochondrial-to-nuclear signalling.

MOTS-C is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region. Unlike peptides encoded by nuclear DNA, MOTS-C is studied as part of mitochondrial-to-nuclear communication and in experimental models involving AMPK signalling, cellular metabolism and stress adaptation.

This 10 MG MOTS-C peptide is supplied as a lyophilized research vial within the NZM-Labs research peptide range. Every production lot is independently analysed by HPLC and mass spectrometry, with lot-specific documentation available for matching the vial to its analytical record. For laboratory research only.

Mitochondrial
AMPK Activation

MOTS-c is one of the first identified mitochondrially-derived peptides (MDPs). It activates AMPK and modulates downstream metabolic-flexibility endpoints in research models - uniquely encoded inside mitochondrial DNA itself rather than the nuclear genome.

Improved
Insulin Sensitivity

Exogenous MOTS-c administration produces measurable improvements in insulin sensitivity and glucose homeostasis markers in animal models of metabolic aging.

Questions?
We have answers.

(01)
Why is a mitochondrially-encoded peptide unusual?
Most signaling peptides are encoded by the nuclear genome. MOTS-c is encoded inside mitochondrial DNA itself, which means the mitochondrion can signal its own metabolic state to the rest of the cell directly. That bidirectional communication is the research interest.

(02)
How is the Certificate of Analysis verified?
Every lot is sent to Janoshik Analytical for independent HPLC and mass spectrometry testing. The COA you receive is theirs, not ours - searchable by lot number on our Science page, no account required.
+
(03)
How is the product shipped?
Lyophilized vials are shipped across the EU. Store sealed vials below 16°C after delivery. Typical delivery takes 3–5 working days.
+
(04)
Is this a research product?
Yes. NZM peptides are sold strictly for in vitro and animal research use only. They are not for human consumption, off-label use, or clinical application. Please consult applicable local regulations before ordering.
+
(05)
What is the MOTS-c research peptide price?
The current MOTS-c price is shown on this page. Pricing applies to B2B research procurement only and may vary by lot, format, and availability.
+
(06)
Can research customers buy MOTS-c from NZM-Labs?
Yes. Research customers can order MOTS-c through NZM-Labs for in vitro and animal research use only. It is not sold for human consumption, clinical use, or self-administration.
