PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a synthetic cyclic melanocortin peptide derived from the Melanotan 2 research lineage. It is studied primarily through central melanocortin receptors, particularly MC4R, which distinguishes its mechanism from compounds investigated through peripheral vascular pathways.
